Joe Tansin and Dean Ford

Pairing together to deliver a great mix of rootsy Americana meets European folk, Joe Tansin and Dean Ford are now ready to tour. Hard at work on a new album and music video, they are steadily building a new audience with their YouTube sensation “The Glasgow Road.”

Ray Wylie-Hubbard: “Joe and Dean are a modern day Everley Brothers and just downright cool …”

Joe Tansin started in Chicago, IL, where he made his mark in the mid-70s playing blues guitar, impressing the likes of Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters and Paul Rodgers.  He relocated to Los Angeles in the mid-70s where he helped reform the group Badfinger; the band’s first qualified replacement for the late, great Pete Ham.

Joe developed a close friendship and working relationships with the legendary piano player for the Rolling Stones, Nicky Hopkins, and eventually was introduced to former Marmalade lead singer, Dean Ford, through a mutual friend.

Dean was one of the pre-eminent vocalists of the late 60s in Britain, just ask Robert Plant. He co-wrote and sang the classic “Reflections Of My Life.” His composition “Rainbow” also hit the Top Ten in the U.K., while Marmalade’s cover of the Beatles “Ob-la-di, Ob-li-da” was one of the few highly successful interpretations of a Lennon-McCartney composition. It also hit #1. Jimi Hendrix rated Dean Ford’s “I See The Rain” as the best song released in 1967 and it was recently covered by Susannah Hoffs of The Bangles.

There have been detours along the way for the duo and they’ve travelled a long hard road to find themselves back on a new course, a new direction, down the “The Glasgow Road

I had nothing left to show
You came along and eased the blow
Set me on that open road
Four wheels and my radio

Just get me off this old highway
A country road and I’ll be okay
They’ll be nothing left for me to say
Now I’m doing it my way
